Perky Pink Grapefruit

I recently purchased The Body Shop's Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel (#1) and have been loving it.  With Spring right around the corner and all these crazy weather fluctuations that we've been having lately, I have needed some extra help waking up in the mornings.  This shower gel has the brightest, citrusy scent and does just the trick; it lathers up really well and leaves me feel refreshed and ready for the day.  It has definitely inspired this post as I have been loving spotting this perky pink grapefruit color in accessories and beauty everywhere I look.  Here are some perky finds that are inspired by my current favorite citrusy scent.

Long Days, Cool Nights

I wasn't too bothered by springing forward yesterday morning, because it only meant one thing to me: longer days!  The days are already starting to get warmer and as the sun goes down a subtle chill comes in.  It's my favorite time of the year next to fall and this weekend I enjoyed tucking away some winter clothes and pulling out some new spring purchases.  I bought this dress a month ago and have been so looking forward to the perfect day for pulling it out.  It's still too chilly at night to wear it this way, but it works during the day.  In the evening, I would switch into booties and throw on a blanket scarf. Happy Monday, I hope we're all in for a bright and warm week.

Chicken Enchiladas

This weekend, my husband and I were searching for a new meal to try so I handed him a couple cookbooks and told him to pick something good!  We narrowed it down to two choices and decided to have a go at these Chicken Enchiladas from my Southern Living All Time Favorites Cookbook. They were a great  choice, pretty easy, and definitely restaurant quality in taste, maybe better! If you like Mexican food as much as us, definitely give them a try. The recipe made a pretty large quantity and we found just one enchilada to be enough for a meal, so we were pleased to find that they were just as great the next day as leftovers.

Spring It Up

one . two . three . four . five . six . seven . eight

It was a little cold and rainy this weekend (bummer), so to cheer myself up I started looking for some little ways to show some signs of Spring around our house. I really don't want to spend a lot or change a lot so I pulled inspiration off of Pinterest and the above collage is what I came up with. Now that I have some good ideas of what I want, I will venture out to the craft store this weekend to see what kind of fun things I can put together on the cheap.  Spring is right about the corner, and although I do love the Winter months, I am really ready for blossoming buds and chirpy birds. How about you?

Winter Lace

One of the nice things about living in Georgia is that it never really gets that cold.  Not the case this year.  It has been pretty chilly, even down here in middle Georgia.  I know it's nothing compared to what the Northeast has been experiencing, but still!  This week was not only cold, but pretty rainy and I found myself longing for Spring.  I decided to start pulling out things that I had purchased for the Spring and finding ways to make them fit into Winter.  This dress for example, which I bought in the beginning of February in hopes of warmer days was just sitting in my closet.  I decided that I wasn't going to wait any longer and pulled it out to wear to work last week.  Paired with grey tights and suede booties, I think it definitely works.

Joie De Vivre: Cocoa Beach

A couple of weekends ago, I was lucky enough to tag along on my husbands work trip to beautiful Cocoa Beach, Florida.  We both needed a nice break to soak up some warm sun and be by the ocean, so we packed up and headed down there to spend a nice long weekend together before he had to work.

Our hotel overlooked the Cocoa Beach Pier and we could walk to most of the places that we wanted to go, but had to drive about 12 miles down the coast to find a dog friendly beach.  It was a nice drive with lots to see and we made a point to go down there for a couple hours almost every day.  Jax was pretty  petrified of the ocean, but he enjoyed running around on the beach and meeting other dogs.  It was also a great spot to watch the surfers and fisherman.

We spent a couple of nights hanging out on the Cocoa Beach Pier and actually got to see a rocket launch from near by Cape Canaveral on our last night. Other highlights of the trip were eating at Florida's Fresh Grill,  Sandbar Sports Grill (famous for their fish tacos and rightfully so!),  and shopping at the world's largest Ron Jon Surf Shop.  A good time was had by all, because let's face it - life is just better at the beach.  Hope you have a happy Friday and that wherever you are, you are keeping warm.

Going Green

one . two . three . four . five . six . seven . eight . nine . ten

This past weekend, I became very eager for Spring and with March right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to do a fresh green post.  I love a nice, bright, fresh green anytime, but it feels best in the Spring.
