Last Sunday, we trekked out to Pine Mountain, Georgia to visit Callaway Gardens. It's right outside of Columbus, Georgia and was a nice little hour and half country drive for us. I had been told lots of nice things about this resort, but thought it was something to save for the Springtime. We knew the weather was going to be beautiful this past Sunday and wanted someplace new to explore, but I quickly became discouraged when a lot of the places we considered were closed on Sundays. I did some exploring on the Callaway Gardens website and decided even though all the Spring blooms wouldn't be out, it would still be a great place to go for the day.
It was a beautiful Winter day for a walk with lots of interesting things to see, including a pioneer home and an indoor butterfly garden. There was a cute café with a nice view of the water for a light bite, and all the cute shops were open and fun to browse through. We even managed to sit it on a Birds Of Prey Show which was pretty awesome. The Gardens are super dog friendly, except for indoor areas. Below are some of my favorite pictures from the day. It was great in January and we are really looking forward to getting back there in the Spring.
