Pomegranate Pimm's Cup

A couple of birthdays ago, my best friend sent me the most lovely package and tucked inside was  this wonderful little Porch Parties book.  It's full of recipes for lovely cocktails, "mock"tails and some little nibbles.  It was beautiful weather this weekend, perfect for an impromptu porch party.   I scanned through to see what ticked my fancy and I came across a wonderful Pimm's Cup recipe.

If you are unfamiliar with Pimm's, you can learn about it here.  Pimm's cup will always be close to my heart, because it not only reminds me of my summer internship in London, but also a lovely afternoon of Pimm's cups with my  mom and sister in law in her beautiful back garden in South Wales.  I have had Pimm's a few different ways, mostly mixed with lemonade or iced tea (my mom mixes it with apple cider, which is quite nice).  This recipe spiked my interest, (1) because I wanted Pimm's and (2) because I love Pomegranate and Ginger Ale.

I was able to get my hands on this most exotic liquor at a small liquor shop here in Middle Georgia, so this makes me think you should be able to get it most anywhere.  If you've never had a Pimm's cup, you are missing out.  Give it a try!

Here's what you need:
Pimm's No.1, Pomegranate Cherry Juice (or any flavor you like), Ginger Ale, Cucumber for Garnish

Now That You Are Ready:
Fill a glass with ice, add 1/4 cup Pimm's and 1/4 cup Pomegranate Juice, fill to top with Ginger Ale, mix well with Straw, garnish with cucumber.

The cucumber garnish is optional, but I will say it really adds a fresh flavor to the drink.  You could experiment with some other fruits if you like.  I think sliced apples and oranges would be a nice addition.

The Final and Most Important Step:
Get out on your porch/balcony/stoop or wherever and enjoy!

Cheers!
